FC Cincinnati superstar Evander's return to Portland to face his former team after an acrimonious breakup in the offseason was always going to be less-than friendly. But even the Brazilian himself was taken aback by just how hostile the Timbers crowd was each and every time he touched the ball.
From the very first whistle, the nearly nine thousand fans in the Timbers Army, and plenty more around Providence Park broke out in to a chant aimed at the Brazilian that was plain and simple to understand — "F*ck Evander".
For the 90 minutes that followed, the former Timbers star was the subject of a rabid, tribal environment inside of historic Providence Park, scenes we don't often get in a league still in it's infancy.
